Izard County Jail Mugshots
The official source for Izard County jail mugshots is Sheriff Charley Melton's current roster at izardcountysheriff.org/roster.php. Current roster cards show thumbnail booking photos with names, booking numbers, booking dates, charge descriptions, bond when listed, and profile links. The public profile page shows a larger booking photo beside the booking fields. The inspected sample had one public front-facing photo. It did not show side views, prior booking photos, or a mugshot history.
There was no verified commercial mugshot source used for Izard County research, and no official local policy was found that endorses any outside mugshot site. The sheriff's own roster and profiles are the records source to use. Weekly incarceration reports on the sheriff site list arrests and repeat the presumption-of-innocence language, but the inspected report did not show booking photos. The most-wanted section is a separate warrant-oriented feature behind a disclaimer, not the ordinary jail roster.
What is and is not public: Current adult roster photos were visible on the official Izard County roster and profiles. Released-photo retention, juvenile records, sealed records, and exempt records should not be treated as ordinary public mugshot access.
Find Izard County Mugshots
Start with the current roster because it is the only verified online Izard County booking-photo source. The roster is browse-first. It does not provide a typed mugshot search box, so the best method is to scan current records by date, use the Name tab or A-Z links if needed, then open the profile. The released roster view exists, but it showed zero entries on May 28, 2026, so it did not verify any released-photo retention window.
- Open the Izard County current inmate roster.
- Browse recent booking cards, or use Name and A-Z filters from the alphabetical roster view.
- Save the booking number once the person is found.
- Open "View Profile >>>" to see the larger booking photo and profile fields.
- If the person is not listed, call 870-368-4203 or request the record through the sheriff under Arkansas FOIA.
- If the person is in DOC, BOP, or ICE custody, use those separate locators rather than the county mugshot roster.
The inspected Izard County roster profile shows how a public booking photo is paired with booking number, demographics, booking date, charges, bond, and the county's bail-warning note.
The profile format matters because the booking photo is not published alone. It appears inside a custody profile with charge and bond data that may change after court appearances.
Izard County Booking Photo Fields
The roster profile gives context for the photo. A booking photo documents jail intake, but the fields beside it are just as important for record matching. The sample profile showed a local booking number in `YY-NNNN` format, age, gender, race, city and state address, booking date and time, charge descriptions, and bond. It did not show date of birth, height, weight, hair, eye color, housing unit, case number, court date, or statute-code columns.
| Source or Field | What It Shows | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Current roster card | Thumbnail mugshot, name, booking #, booking date, charges, bond when listed. | No DOB, case number, housing unit, or court date. |
| Full profile | Larger booking photo, booking #, age, gender, race, city/state, date, charges, bond. | One image and no prior-photo history. |
| Released roster | Public released-record view exists. | Showed zero entries, so retention was not verified. |
| Weekly incarceration report | Names, ages, hometowns, arrest dates, and charge summaries. | No booking photos in the inspected report. |
| Most Wanted | Separate sheriff feature behind a disclaimer. | Wanted context, not a full mugshot roster. |
The profile warning should be read with the photo. The sheriff says charges and bail amounts may change after court appearances and may not be current. Bond companies and persons wishing to post bail are told to call Detention Center staff at 870-368-4203 for the correct bail amount, charges, and case numbers.
Izard County Mugshot Public Access
Arkansas FOIA is the main public-record access rule for Izard County booking photos. Ark. Code Ann. 25-19-105 generally opens public records to inspection and copying unless a specific exemption applies. The Attorney General FOIA Handbook explains that records kept by public officials or public employees within the scope of employment are public unless exempt. No Arkansas statute was located in the research that categorically prohibits an official sheriff roster from publishing adult jail booking photos.
Key statute: Ark. Code Ann. 25-19-105 is the general Arkansas FOIA inspection and copying rule for public records.
Access limit: FOIA does not guarantee every photo or related record will be released. Exemptions, sealing orders, juvenile rules, and protected information can change access.
The safe rule is narrow. Adult current roster photos were visible on official Izard County pages. A photo that is no longer online may be requested through the sheriff, but release depends on the record, the person's status, any court order, and any exemption or redaction duty that applies.
Request Izard County Booking Photos
If a booking photo is not on the current roster, use the sheriff records route rather than outside photo sites. The sheriff administration page supports records questions because it says Administration handles records maintenance and criminal case files. No county-specific FOIA form was located, so a written request should be clear, narrow, and routed to the Sheriff's Office custodian or administration.
- State that the request is made under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act.
- Identify the requested record as a booking photograph, booking profile, arrest report, or roster entry.
- Give the person's full name, aliases if known, and booking number if known.
- Give the arrest or booking date range and any charge context that helps locate the record.
- Say whether inspection, electronic copies, paper copies, or certified copies are requested.
- Ask for an advance cost estimate if copy costs may exceed a stated amount.
Use Izard County Sheriff's Office, 300 Circle Drive, Melbourne, AR 72556, phone 870-368-4203, or fax 870-368-5226 for the local records route. The sheriff contact page warns that plain text email is not secure, so sensitive identifiers should not be sent through the website contact form.
Izard County Mugshot Retention
No official released-roster retention period was verified. The public released view at roster.php?released=1 showed zero released inmates when inspected. That does not prove no one was released. It only means the public released roster did not provide a populated sample for checking how long released profiles or mugshots stay online.
A person who bonded out, was released, or transferred may disappear from the current roster. A sentenced person at Benny Magness Unit or another Arkansas DOC facility should be searched through the Arkansas DOC inmate search, not the county roster. A person in federal or immigration custody may need BOP, U.S. Marshals, or ICE tools. Those systems are custody locators, not Izard County booking-photo galleries.
Note: The current roster count and released view can change at any time, so use the May 28, 2026 snapshot only as dated research context.
Izard County Mugshot Removal
No official Izard County mugshot removal policy was located. No Arkansas-specific official "pay-to-remove mugshot website" statute was located in the research pass either. If a case is sealed, expunged, dismissed, or otherwise legally restricted, the first step is the court order and the originating agency that published or maintains the record. Generic removal promises from outside sources should not be treated as official records guidance.
Arkansas criminal-record sealing is governed by the Comprehensive Criminal Record Sealing Act, Ark. Code Ann. 16-90-1401 et seq. A sealing order may limit public access to eligible records, but it does not mean every online copy disappears without agency action. Court records and jail records are separate. The court handles the case record, while the sheriff controls the roster and booking record it maintains. For the court side, use Izard County court records after a jail arrest.
State and Federal Mugshots
Benny Magness Unit is physically in Izard County, but it is a state prison. A person housed there is searched through Arkansas DOC, not the county jail roster. DOC custody records follow state prison rules for classification, transfer, mail, money, and visitation. The DOC locator has fields for ADC number, county, name, facility, gender, offense category, age, race, and a disclaimer agreement, but it is not the Izard County roster.
Federal and immigration custody are also separate. The BOP locator searches federal inmates by number or name and returns custody fields such as register number, release date, and location. It does not publish a county-style mugshot gallery. ICE ODLS is a custody locator for eligible ICE or CBP custody searches, with A-number or biographical search requirements and no under-18 search. BOP and ICE should not be described as sources for Izard County jail mugshots.
